How to Make Your Own Natural Base Cream for your Skin and Hair – 2020

Base Cream can be simply said to be a perfumed/scentless cream or base ingredient. Base Cream can be used plainly or can be used with a mixture of some other few oils with a maximum dilution rate (M.D.R of 1%).

The Essential Oils would need to be much more diluted, as some are not compatible with the human skin and may cause several skin irritations or reactions.

What is Base Cream?

The Base Cream is a complete combination or mixture of several skincare ingredients to form a plain cream for pre-mixing with other products. Such ingredients are Almond Oil, Wax, and Steric Acid.

The Primary use of Base Cream is to be used as a skincare premixing, and this implies adding other essential skincare ingredients to the base cream

It is a Mixture of the Hydrating effects of water (H2O) on the skin, and soothing actions of the essential oils to give good quality skincare, moisturize, and hydrate the skin.

Normally, Base Creams are independently used as a moisturizing lotion or hydrating lotion to prevent the skin from harsh weather conditions and cracks.

In this step, you are gonna have to pour in the almond oil, alongside e-wax and stearic acid with the appropriate and stated measurements in a bowl (recommended: Stainless Bowl to hasten to dissolve and, melting).
The Mixture would be dissolved or melted using the double boiler technique.
NOTICE: DON’T USE A RUBBER OR PLASTIC BOWL?

  3. Wait for Emulsifying Wax and Steric Acid to Melt

In this third step, you’ll have to see when the Wax and Steric Acid has fully melted in the Almond Oil, then you remove it from heating

  4. Add Shea Butter to the Mixture

This is the 4th Step, and all you have to do is simply make some few additions of shea butter to the potential mixture, and this would make the shea butter melt quickly due to the retained heat in the mixture or bowl.

  5. Pour Lactic Acid & Milk

This is the 5th Step, after the introduction of shea butter to the mixture, you would have to add lactic acid alongside milk to the formed mixture of almond oil and melted ingredients (Wax, Shea Butter and, Steric Acid)

  6. Stir Fast & Carefully

After the successful addition of Lactic Acid and Milk, then all you have to do for now is calm down and stir carefully, but very fast or make use of a hand mixing device (Electrical Mixers). Stirring should continue till a creamy texture is formed, and after this, allow to cool down.

  7. Add Essential Oils

After allowing to cool off, or cool down, you can then add your essential oils such as Grapes seed oil, or the Vitamin E oil. It is recommended you use the Natural Preservative: Optiphen Plus and transfer your base cream to a suitable, clean, cool, and dry container.

What is Double Boiler Method?

The Double Boiler Method is simply a technique or a process of melting or dissolving out the (few) skincare additional ingredients taken into your mixing for efficient results to get a good Mixture.

How to Dissolve Skincare Ingredients with Double Boiler Method?

Add up to 3 Cups of Water in the Pot
Place the Filled Pot on Fire
Use a Stainless Steel Pot and Add the Ingredients to be dissolved
Add Few amounts of Water to the SkinCare Powder to be dissolved

TAKE NOTICE: Water can’t be used in the dissolving of waxes, so it said that one should use Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, and Olive Oil alongside the double boiler method. However, distilled and filtered water is able to dissolve skincare powders.

Constant and Quick String is Key in the Melting Down Process of the Powder, Acid or Wax.
